Eyelid Surgery
Droopy Eyelids? Our Oculoplastic Specialist Can Help!
The ophthalmologists and eye surgeons at Country Hills Eye Center provide a wide range of procedures to effectively slow down the effects aging has on eyesight. If you have droopy eyelids, we can help you look younger and more refreshed with our cosmetic eyelid surgery called a Blepharoplasty. This surgical procedure can significantly improve the appearance of the upper or lower eyelid.
Your eyes are one of the most visible and expressive areas of your face. Your eyes and the area around your eyes can influence other people’s perception of your age, mood, and alertness. If you have puffy, saggy or droopy eyelids, you may look tired and older than you actually are. Besides making you look older and less alert, severely sagging skin around your eyes can reduce your peripheral vision, especially the upper and lower parts of your field of vision. Our cosmetic surgeries can reduce or eliminate these vision problems and give you a more youthful-looking appearance.
What Cosmetic Eye Surgery Can Help With
Our eyelid surgery can be used to help improve:
- Loose or sagging skin that creates folds or disturbs the natural contour of the upper eyelid that can impair vision.
- Fatty deposits that appear as puffiness in the eyelids.
- Bags under the eyes.
- Drooping lower eyelids.
- Excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelids.
What to Expect
When you visit us for eyelid surgery, we will provide you with anesthesia to ensure you’re comfortable during the surgical procedure. Your cosmetic surgeon will then make incisions in very deliberate areas so they will be well concealed within the natural structures of the eyelid region. The next step of the procedure involves your surgeon redistributing or removing fat deposits from around your eyes, tightening the muscles, and removing excess layers of skin. Then the incisions are closed with tiny sutures.
Once the procedure is finished, you will immediately notice the results. As far as recovery goes, you can expect to have slight swelling and bruising, dry eyes, and minor discomfort. Once the swelling and bruising subside, you’ll have a smooth, well-defined eyelid and surrounding area for a more alert, youthful-looking, and rejuvenated appearance.
