Dr. Church completed his Bachelors of Science at Southern Utah University, and later earned his Bachelors of Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He did a 12 month externship with emphasis in ocular disease rotations in Juneau, AK, North Miami Beach, and Fort Lauderdale, FL. Upon graduation, Dr. Church served his country for over seven years as a U.S. Naval Officer where he was head of the Optometry Department, at U.S. Naval Hospital Oak Harbor, WA and later U.S. Naval Hospital Naples, Italy.
He has over 10 years of experience in ocular pathology and enjoys working with patients that need eye exams for; ocular disease management, comprehensive eye examinations, glasses & contact lens fittings, LASIK & PRK co-management, cataract evaluation and surgery co-management
He has volunteered his professional expertise by providing eye screenings to over 500 Special Olympic Athletes, and has provided eye screenings to over 150 underserved individuals. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and Utah Optometric Association, and graduated Optometry with distinguished honors. Dr. Church was inducted into the Gold Key Honors International Society, and more recently, he received the very prestigious Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (for the second time) for outstanding performance and achieving 99% overall patient satisfaction. When Dr. Church isn’t working with patients, he likes traveling the world with his wife and four children. They enjoy the great outdoors of all seasons and like to road trip as a family.
